Feeling torn between the stresses of college and personal relationships as a young woman? I empower motivated college students to navigate anxiety, women's issues, and life transitions so they can foster healthy connections and self-care, without sacrificing their ambitions. Hi, I'm Jacqueline, and If you’re reading this and you’re new to therapy, or you’ve done therapy in the past and are looking for a new outlook, I think I bring a unique perspective and set of tools and trainings based on my academic and professional background. I’ve been a Licensed Professional Counselor since 2012. My first three years in college were spent at Texas Tech University, where I earned my bachelor’s degree in psychology. After that, I went on to earn my master’s degree in Rehabilitation Counseling Psychology from UT Southwestern Medical Center. I was blessed to work at some pretty incredible places like UT Arlington, Children’s Medical Center in Dallas, and UT Southwestern’s Neuropsychology department before finding my way to private practice. Whether you're just down the street from my office at TCU, or you're across the state and want to see me virtually, then I'd love to help you. Feel free to set up a free 15 minute consultation for us to meet by emailing me or booking through my website.

That feeling when ... you can't describe the feeling. Overwhelmed, or maybe anxious. Frustrated. Alone. Misunderstood. Stuck. Unable to see your way forward. I've been there, and I've spent years developing tools to share with you and help guide you on another path. Whether you need help navigating a new phase in your life, need new tools for facing sudden or unexpected changes, or are looking for fresh perspectives, I can help you find your brave and move forward with intention and joy. I have a Master's degree in Community Counseling and have been a counselor for 13 years. What will counseling with me look like? Expect me to be honest, friendly, and direct, and to be willing to laugh and cry with you. You will be in a safe environment where you can explore your feelings and your relationships without judgment. Some days you may need a good listener and some days you might want some new perspective, and I am here to provide both. However, as we get to know each other, I will challenge you to set and make progress towards your goals. Although I use a variety of theories to guide me in my work, you will most likely learn a lot of cognitive behavioral techniques working with me. We will move at your pace, but we will examine what you think, and why you think it, to help you understand your feelings. Understanding your feelings, and how they connect to your thoughts and actions, will be your first step in setting goals towards making the changes you want to see in your life.

College is a lot. If you are juggling classes, a social life, and a brain that will not cooperate, you do not need a six-month waitlist on top of it. Little Dove Psychology is a fully virtual practice for college students, based in Austin, Texas. Two things we do differently: if you have always wondered whether you have ADHD, we complete comprehensive virtual ADHD evaluations in under a month, with a written report you can use at school. And our individual therapy sessions fit an actual student schedule, with evening and weekend appointments, all from your dorm, apartment, or parked car between classes. We use approaches with real evidence behind them (CBT, ACT, DBT skills) for the things students actually deal with: anxiety, perfectionism, procrastination that is really something deeper, homesickness, relationships, and figuring out who you are. No judgment, no lectures, just practical help from someone who gets it. Your therapy does not have to end when the semester does. Through PSYPACT, we can see you across Texas and the other PSYPACT states, so if you head home for winter break, spend the summer out of state, or study away from campus, your sessions continue without starting over with someone new. Little Dove Psychology is in network with Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas, and Optum (UnitedHealthcare); the plans each clinician accepts are listed below, and we provide superbills for other plans. Every student starts with a free 15-minute consultation, and most start the same week they reach out.

Hello, I’m Joanna, a compassionate and experienced psychotherapist dedicated to helping adults, college students, and student-athletes navigate life’s challenges. College can be an exciting time, but balancing academic pressure, relationships, independence, finances, athletic responsibilities, and expectations for the future can also feel overwhelming. Whether you are experiencing trauma, anxiety, depression, ADHD, relationship concerns, co-dependency, low self-esteem, emotional regulation difficulties, or everyday stress, I provide a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where you can feel heard and understood. I also provide therapy for athletes experiencing performance anxiety, difficulty balancing academics and athletics, burnout, injuries, identity concerns, low confidence, and stress related to competition or team expectations. My approach is collaborative, trauma-informed, and tailored to your individual needs. I earned my degrees from Northern Kentucky University with honors, specializing in Trauma-Informed Care, and I am currently pursuing my doctorate to expand my clinical expertise. Drawing from cognitive behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, person-centered therapy, and psychodynamic approaches, Cindy integrates different therapeutic perspectives based on each client’s individual needs. She is particularly interested in helping clients develop awareness of the experiences and underlying patterns that may be impacting their emotional wellness and relationships. Cindy’s goal is to create a therapeutic relationship where clients feel genuinely heard and accepted while gaining insight, building resilience, and developing the tools needed to create meaningful and lasting change. She believes counseling is not about telling someone who they should be; it is about creating space for them to understand better who they are and who they want to become.

We all carry pieces of our past into the present, our experiences, relationships, losses, strengths, culture, and the ways we learned to cope along the way. I believe we are the sum of those parts, and counseling gives us a place to understand how they shaped who we are today and decide what we want to carry forward. I'm Arcelia Emerson LPC-Associate Supervised by April West LPC-S. My path to becoming a counselor is personal. I’ve been a client myself, and my experience with EMDR showed me how powerful counseling can be. It also taught me what it feels like to sit on the other side of the room, share your story, and do the hard work of healing. That experience continues to shape how I work with my clients, with compassion, curiosity, and authenticity. I see counseling as a partnership. You are the expert on your life, and we work together to understand patterns, build on your strengths, and find tools that make sense for you. My approach is trauma-informed and individualized because I don’t believe counseling should be one-size-fits-all. I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing, along with mindfulness, breathwork, grounding, yoga, Sandtray, and creative approaches. Together, we look at both the mind and body and find what works best for you. I work with all ages experiencing trauma, anxiety, depression, ADHD, grief, relationship concerns, life changes, or simply feeling stuck. Your culture, family, identity, values, and experiences are all part of your story and are welcome in the counseling room. My practice is LGBTQIA+ affirming. You don’t have to know exactly what you need before you begin. We can figure that out together.
