Your Tired of Life passing you by. It gets exhausting- day after day, the uneasiness, the worry. The weight you feel is valid, but you yearn for brighter days. You can get your life dreams back! I am so glad you are here. When you come to your first therapy appointment, you’ll question yourself if its worth it. You know you need to address these issues you’re having. I know I felt the same. Therapy offers many different experiences, You will feel better just hearing your thoughts out loud. Our relationship is a key driver to your success, I value you and work every session to offer you space to reflect, understand, and provide hope. You can get in balance. People enter therapy believing they are doomed for life. You are not doomed. Therapy will help uncover those strengths you have that have been lost amidst your chaos. We walk together to shine a light on the underlying issues that are behind this disbalance, while learning your story, making sense of those thoughts and feelings, and creating ways to balance them each day. Getting yourself back is within your abilities. You will set the pace. I will guide and walk beside you. We will do this together. I will approach each session with curiosity about your story. My job is to create a space that allows you to feel safe and secure, while we reflect and understand your vulnerabilities. We will help give you some new perspective and some more life tools to help you from having multiple bad days in a row. We will have moments of tears and joy. We will have moments of celebration and triumph. I am fully committed to opening new pathways that feel more tolerable. I believe in doing more of what’s working. I strive to use philosophy and interventions that are backed by evidence. I like to see healing and relief. OI like to see you achieve your life vision after a period of self-doubt, Connect with me today. This is your first step in ending your frustrations.

As a Licensed Professional Counselor, I help college students and young adults who are struggling with over-thinking, excessive worrying, feeling overwhelmed, low mood or feeling frequently annoyed. I work with people who want healthier relationships and more self-confidence. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral and solution focused strategies to help people better understand their thoughts, behaviors and feelings. We then work as a team to identify realistic steps to help move things in a new direction. I offer support, but also teach specific skills to help people make change. Maybe you don't know what's wrong or what you need. I strive to create a warm, safe environment where we can figure that out together.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the states of Pennsylvania, Delaware and New Jersey. I graduated from Widener University where I earned a master’s in Social Work. While at Widener, I completed a certificate in the treatment of trauma. I began my career at Ambrosia Treatment Center, a substance abuse disorder facility. Over the past five years I have worked in all levels of care within the substance use field. I created a program to treat substance use and eating disorders concurrently. After this program I began building a private practice where I work primarily with individuals who have co-occurring eating disorders and substance use. Outside of Guide to Wellness, I help treatment centers across the country implement veterans programs at their facilities. I use a collaborative approach in treatment. I like to meet clients where they are in their lives and work collaboratively with the individual to create an individualized treatment experience. My approach draws heavily from ACT (acceptance and commitment therapy), CBT and exposure therapy. I work to create a trusting, non-judgmental relationship with the individual. I see myself as someone who presents opportunities to the individual and allow them to be the decision maker. I feel my role is to help the individual see the whole picture in their choices.

While I feel that anyone could use the extra help and insight therapy provides, my specialities include issues related to college, job/career, and women’s issues. You deserve the opportunity to be heard and held as you face challenges. Through compassion and humor, I will work with you to cultivate the unique and special relationship between therapist and client that will help guide you. I offer an eclectic approach, borrowing from mindfulness, relational, CBT, attachment-focused, and other modalities. My approach is based on the individual needs of the client, rather than a one-size-fits-all. I come from a place of cultural humility, respecting gender, sexuality, social and racial justice. I understand how each individual is more than the sum of their parts; rather than pathologizing, I support each client as they identify and then build upon their strengths.

I have a decade-plus history of helping individuals experiencing issues ranging from general anxiety to Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. These patients can vary from people who have experienced acute traumatic events, suffered from health-related problems, dealt with adverse childhoods, or are struggling with the problems of everyday life. My training allows me to tailor my approach to the individual whether I am working with a young person navigating life transitions or an adult who has experienced a traumatic event. I am as comfortable reviewing CBT coping skills as I am guiding individuals on ways to regain trust and meaning.

YOU are the expert on yourself. I have had training and life experiences, but I believe that you hold within yourself the power to make the changes that you want to see happen in your life, but nobody has ever shown you that power before. I believe in helping you discover and awaken that power through whatever means you feel comfortable, and sometimes UNcomfortable! I believe in the uniqueness of every individual and work to find that in every person I meet through my work, my travels and everyday trips to the grocery store or walks in the neighborhood with my dog! I have had my own struggles with depression and anxiety in the past, and was a bit of an antisocial teen...I have seen it all, so you can feel safe talking with me about ANYTHING and I won't make you feel judged:)

Opening up is no small thing, but it's also the fundamental thing that gives folks relief. To this end, I try to make therapy a natural process and most of my clients say that I feel like "talking to a real person." I developed my style by working with university students on a number of campuses who taught me to drop the artificial formalities, ask deeper questions, be upfront with my care, and say what I mean. In general, I start from the standpoint that anyone seeking therapy has come by their pain honestly and that much of what folx find distressing in themselves is a reasonable response to what has happened to them. Thus, I am unlikely to give rote advice and more likely to partner with you in unpacking your past, exploring your feelings, reaching creative solutions, and lifting what's blocking you from moving toward your version of the good life. In terms of specialties, I help students work through the kinds of relationship troubles (family, romantic, friendships etc) that leave people feeling lonely, anxious, inadequate, seeking approval, depressed, misunderstood, self-critical, or slow to let others in. Queer folx, Student Veterans, adult children of alcoholics, overachievers, burnt out students, undergrad, law, medical, and grad students, young professionals, and folks in creative fields have found me helpful. Importantly, for therapy to be a liberating space, people need the freedom to talk about how their lives are shaped by their sociocultural identities as well as corresponding experiences of prejudice, marginalization, and erasure. Conversations about politics, class, race, religion, gender, sexuality and all the "isms" are fair game and also integral to figuring out how to live with more ease in these difficult times.
