Are you struggling with anxiety or depression? Are you proud of your achievements but still feel there is a disconnect between how you want to live your life and how things are shaping up for you now, almost like you are watching a movie or living someone else’s life? It can be hard to even start a conversation about how to alleviate the way you’re feeling, when you are unsure about how the disconnection occurred and what exactly the disconnect is. I’m here to help you figure that out. I am passionate about empowering clients to figure out their own unique truth, joy, and fulfillment in life. Therapy can be the space for you to do exactly that. Sometimes the anxiety or depression we face is a symptom of a disconnection from our deeper selves, so a large focus of my work with clients is to empower them to find their voice, their truth, and to deepen their sense of congruence. I was drawn to therapy from my prior career having seen firsthand the enormous value therapy can bring us in improving both the quality and enjoyment of our lives. My approach is supportive, curious, and collaborative so that you can explore your experiences in a safe and culturally sensitive environment. Every client’s needs are completely unique, and no one is defined by their symptoms or challenges, so I adapt my approach based on your goals and objectives. I believe that honesty and directness are essential skills for therapists so that our clients can recognize patterns that don’t serve them well. I will share the truth of what I’m seeing with kindness and respect. Sometimes this means exploring uncomfortable experiences or feelings, and I will be your partner as you come to a deeper understanding of these experiences, and free yourself of their hold on you. I invite you to start by imagining what the best outcome could look like for you, and we will go from there.

I work hard to create a safe and inviting space for my clients to work on whichever problems they choose to bring into their sessions. My approach reflects my empathic, nonjudgmental, and compassionate style. I believe that the therapeutic relationship is one of the most important factors in treatment, as I believe that healing happens when there is a strong therapeutic alliance. I collaborate with and empower my clients to harness or reclaim their inner strength and power. I have experience working with clients who struggle with anxiety, depression, relationship stressors, work/life stress, life transitions, and trauma.

There are 6 therapists including myself in the practice. We are all different in our approaches and areas of expertise. Our fees are flexible, as are our hours. We are offering in-person sessions. All of us have worked with students since the start of our careers. In fact women roughly ages 18-25 is our favorite population to work with. We believe the fit between client and therapist is the most important aspect of therapy. You feeling listened to, not judged and that we are focused on helping you is our goal.

I love the privilege of working with creative, insightful individuals looking to better understand themselves. Based on what you find useful, we’ll incorporate existential, artistic, spiritual, and humanistic approaches. From me, you can expect warmth, investment, and- where appropriate- humor to support increased perspective. This highly personalized process is one of the best efforts any of us can make for our health. Experienced in treating ADHD, PTSD, bipolar disorder, depression disorders (MDD, PDD), and generalized anxiety. Healing is nonlinear, therapy is best when it’s unrushed, and it’s really important that it happens at your own pace. I am a final-year clinical student at Columbia, focusing on treatment for young adults and adolescents, and did my BA at Yale. "It was what I was born for—to look, to listen, to lose myself inside this soft world." —Mary Oliver, "Mindful"

If you find yourself constantly caught up in a cycle of overthinking & overachieving, seeking balance and centeredness in your life, I am here to help. Through therapy, we will explore strategies to calm the racing thoughts, ease the pressure of constant doing, and rediscover a sense of harmony within yourself. While we may not possess the ability to directly control our thoughts & feelings, we do hold the power to consciously choose our responses to these internal experiences. Together, we can navigate the challenges you face, while embracing laughter, acceptance, and an authentic connection that promotes growth & well-being. I specialize in treating OCD, anxiety, & perfectionism. I enjoy helping young adults navigate professional, social, & romantic challenges. Therapy should be tailored, not one-size-fits-all. I specialize in working with people who are experiencing life transitions, such as marriage, divorce, parenting, career, loss of a loved one, aging, and existential anxiety. Transitions can be stressful because it means you need to make changes in how you are living your life. I work with people who are at a crossroads of important decisions or who are having difficulties navigating and adjusting to a change in life circumstances. Going in a direction you have not gone before can bring up feelings of fear, doubt, and uncertainty. If you are trying to figure out what you want from your life, I will provide a safe and nonjudgmental place where we can explore your emotions, challenges, choices and possible consequences, and best approaches to move forward. Going through the process of taking stock of your life can often lead you to a new beginning which opens up new possibilities. With every life transition, we need to let go of a past way of thinking or being and replace it with something new. Together we can create a path towards change and healing.

Psychiatrist

I am a board-certified child, adolescent, and adult psychiatrist, currently practicing and licensed in New York and California. I have a virtual private practice. I am also an attending child and adolescent psychiatrist/Clinical Assistant Professor at New York University Grossman School of Medicine, Medical Director of the Mental Health Team at the Nicholas Scoppetta Children's Center, and the Medical Director of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health at Association for Children's Services. I completed my child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco. I was born and raised in New York City, where I also completed my medical education at Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine and my adult psychiatry residency at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York. I enjoy working with each individual to find out what the needs are. No family, child, adolescent, or adult are the same, and everyone exists within a system. It is important to see a person as a whole, including the family they come from, school, job, community, and much more, in order to treat properly. My approach, when treating a child or adolescent, is to consider the community they are in, come from an attachment-based lens, and meet the youth where they are. Involvement of the parents will be important, especially depending on the age of the youth. My approach, when treating an adult, is to meet that adult where they are, understand their unique situation and treat accordingly. Personally, and professionally, I am interested in attachment theory and mind-body connection. I have received training in mindfulness-based stress reduction, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, family therapy, parent management training, motivational interviewing, and psychodynamic psychotherapy. My main areas of focus: anxiety disorders, depression, obsessive compulsive disorder, ADHD, trauma, behavioral issues, disruptive mood dysregulation disorder (DMDD), self-esteem, family, parenting, interpersonal dynamics, and school issues. However, each person is unique, so I am happy to speak to anyone and see if we are a good fit.

The mind is a powerful tool, incredibly powerful. We can think positive thoughts, we can think realistic thoughts and we can think negative thoughts. Some thoughts are fleeting and others forgotten. Some thoughts are rooted in our early impression of the world around us. We are committed to providing support with negative thought patterns and emotional dysregulation, providing individuals with the tools, knowledge, and the resources to overcome these challenges. Our team is committed to helping individuals achieve mental wellness and emotional stability. We utilize a strength-based, cognitive behavioral and person centered approach when working with individuals to address negative thought patterns, emotional instability, anxiety and depression.
