I've spent the majority of my career working with teenagers and young adults. Since 2020, I've been working in a college mental health center, where I help students navigate the challenges of being in academics while also attending to the complexities of life. I love working with college students and witnessing the incredible change that can happen during this important time in life. When working together, I will always meet you where you're at, help you formulate your goals, and gently push you towards values-based living. I specialize in treating OCD and anxiety, including phobias and social anxiety. My hope is that I can help you find your voice and build confidence through my compassionate, down-to-earth therapy style. I also love to infuse creativity whenever possible to help deepen the therapeutic experience and foster self-reflection.

Dr. Sean Paul, Psy.D., is a clinical psychologist who specializes in trauma, anxiety, and helping individuals navigate stressful or demanding periods of life. He brings a grounded, real-world understanding of resilience, emotional coping, and the challenges people face during and after difficult or overwhelming experiences. Over time, Dr. Paul’s private practice has expanded to serve individuals who feel stuck, overwhelmed, or uncertain about their direction in life, not just those in formal high-stress professions. He works with adults navigating anxiety, the impact of past experiences, and major life transitions. He helps people clarify what matters most to them and take an active role in shaping their therapeutic goals, while providing professional guidance, structure, and steady support. His services include trauma-focused therapy for individuals impacted by difficult or distressing experiences, support for people in high-stress or high-responsibility roles including but not limited to veterans and first responders, treatment for individuals who feel stuck, overwhelmed, or dissatisfied with their current life direction, and collaborative, client-guided treatment planning that aligns therapy with each person’s values and goals.
Each person has their own unique story and reason for seeking therapy-it is my privilege to support you in this space! My work is trauma-informed and person-centered. My approach is largely feminist and I have a devotion to working with minoritized identities in ways that feel culturally-relevant. Your present need not be your future! Life isn’t always easy. Today you may be anxious, depressed, stuck, overwhelmed, flunking out, and/or obsessed. Tomorrow can be different. The path to a better future may involve courageously exploring emotions or it may involve learning and practicing new habits or strategies. Sometimes little changes cause dramatic results. My specialty is working with you to determine what will work best for you. To this task I bring great depth and breadth of experience. I was actually a college dropout before I became a Clinical Psychologist and Neuropsychologist after first becoming an Educational & Career Counselor & then applying my knowledge & skills on myself. I’ve been in private practice as a therapist for over 30 years, have consulted to hospitals for decades as a Clinical Neuropsychologist, taught the graduate course Neuropsychology to psychology doctoral students for 18 years, created the graduate course Nutrition, Brain and Behavior, provided lectures on neuropsychology for medical students and residents through Harvard Medical School’s Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital and created many continuing education courses for psychologists and lectured college counselors nationwide on improving college performance. I’ve done thousands of assessments encompassing ADHD, learning disability, autism, memory disorders, executive dysfunction, anxiety disorders and depression, yet, despite this I do not think in terms of these labels. Most sessions begin with screening not to assign a diagnosis but determination of the type of psychotherapy or lifestyle changes with which you are likely to feel most comfortable. Take the first step towards a better tomorrow.

I have been working as a therapist, especially with young adults, for many years.
