While I feel that anyone could use the extra help and insight therapy provides, my specialities include issues related to college, job/career, and women’s issues. You deserve the opportunity to be heard and held as you face challenges. Through compassion and humor, I will work with you to cultivate the unique and special relationship between therapist and client that will help guide you. I offer an eclectic approach, borrowing from mindfulness, relational, CBT, attachment-focused, and other modalities. My approach is based on the individual needs of the client, rather than a one-size-fits-all. I come from a place of cultural humility, respecting gender, sexuality, social and racial justice. I understand how each individual is more than the sum of their parts; rather than pathologizing, I support each client as they identify and then build upon their strengths.
I work with teens, adults and couples, helping with navigating difficult life transitions, improving communication skills and emotional regulation, as well as building a healthy sense of self-worth. I utilize a strengths-based and compassionate approach. I believe that the therapeutic relationship itself can be a powerful agent for change, and that creating emotional safety within our relationship is paramount. I provide a safe and judgment-free environment so that you can learn to trust yourself and others in your life. I will work with you to help you gain self-awareness and to develop tools for creating the life you want to live. I specialize in treating relationship issues (including recovery from abuse), trauma, anxiety and depression. Together we will work on helping you to gain insight and to become more mindful of your emotions and responses to stress. I am a lifelong learner and am passionate about the work that I do. I know seeking therapy can be an overwhelming experience, and I would be happy to do a free consultation with you to address any questions or concerns you may have about the process. I specialize in working with clients from the ages of 14 to adulthood, who are inquisitive, self-aware, and deeply motivated to understand themselves better, improve their relationships, move into a place of self-respect/love, and develop adaptive ways of coping, communicating, and problem-solving. I have worked for many years with children, teens, adults, and families dealing with trauma and change and searching for authenticity, often in a world that values the superficial. Therapy is a process of seeking meaning, managing change, letting go of what no longer makes sense for who we are and what we want, healing, and growing. I am most suited to help clients dealing with loss, prior childhood trauma, depression, anxiety, ADHD, identity (in all its manifestations), divorce, self-esteem, grief, and emotional regulation. The goals are different for everyone, yet I believe that we all want to feel more balanced, more joyful, and more healthfully connected with others. As a psychologist with 25 years of post-doctoral experience, I’ve been exposed to various modalities, settings, and clients dealing with differing issues, life changes, and developmental expectations. I’ve also found that my professional practice has evolved as I’ve matured, raised children, and survived losses and challenges. We are in this together.
The desire to know and to be known is a normal human experience. I value the trauma-informed safety and client-centered connection we collaboratively create through a systematic lens. I am particularly sensitive to diversity in culture and self-identity, including with respect to race, gender and sexuality. I believe the importance of affirming the unique individual experience with cultural humility. Through compassion, sensitivity, and empowerment, we will work together respectfully to acknowledge vulnerability, unearth patterns, attend complexity, and gain ownership change to achieve the most authentic and expansive self. I have experience working with trauma, depression, anxiety, substance use, life transition challenges, self-esteem, relationship issues including intimate partner violence, and immigration matter. I approach this work holistically with warmth, empathy, and ever developing curiosity. It takes courage to seek a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first step towards change. It takes intentions to create the time and space to understand and explore ways to navigate the situation we are in. If you would like to explore what that looks like, I am here to support and empower you.
I work with students who feel stuck, stressed, or unsure about their next steps, whether it’s managing anxiety, navigating life changes, exploring identity, coping with past experiences or just wanting a space to feel seen and supported. My goal is to create a welcoming space where you can show up as your full, unique self, feel supported, and start making sense of what matters to you. Together, we’ll gain clarity, explore your goals, and develop tools to help you move forward with confidence and self-compassion. I take a thoughtful, personalized approach, combining evidence-based strategies with respect for your strengths, identity, and experiences. Therapy with me is a space to understand yourself better, tackle what’s weighing you down, and discover ways to thrive. Trauma-informed, identity-affirming, and neurodivergent-affirming care.

At EmBODY Confidence, we support neurodivergent women and teens who struggle with eating disorders, body dysmorphia, anxiety, low self-esteem, and emotional dysregulation. Our approach is grounded in compassion, authenticity, and self-understanding, helping you feel truly at home in your body without shame or apology. You want to trust your emotions, take up space, eat without guilt, and show up fully in your life. We are here to help you get there with compassion, clarity, and courage. Together, we explore the deeper roots of your struggles, build awareness of the systems that created them, and develop tools for lasting change. We work collaboratively, because you know yourself and your body best. We are a fat-positive, anti-diet, LGBTQIA+, and gender-affirming practice aligned with Health at Every Size® (HAES). EmBODY Confidence is neurodivergent-affirming and committed to creating a space where every body, identity, and mind is welcomed and safe. Research shows that neurodivergent women and LGBTQIA+ individuals are more likely to experience eating disorders or disordered eating patterns than cisgender individuals. Unfortunately, traditional treatment models often fail to meet their unique needs. Our work bridges that gap with affirming, specialized care designed specifically for you. You do not have to do this alone. Healing is possible and you are absolutely worthy of it.
Hi! Welcome to my profile :) I am, by nature, highly empathetic and an active listener with years of experience working with diverse populations. I prioritize the client-therapist relationship in my work to foster trust, care, and collaboration. I show up as my genuine self in therapy and leave room for my clients to do the same. I have 5 years of experience working at a state university counseling center providing individual and group therapy to undergraduate and graduate students from all over the world. My clinical interests include complex trauma, childhood abuse, sexual abuse/assault, intimate partner violence, traumatic grief, suicidal ideation, and complex family concerns. I operate from a systemic, relational, and trauma-informed lens with a mix of psychodynamic, somatic experiencing, emotion-focused, humanistic, and mindfulness-based approaches. I look forward to supporting you while helping you heal, slow down, love yourself, and be present.
As a relational, attachment-based therapist, I believe that the therapeutic relationship is a powerful vehicle for change. As a systemic therapist, I also believe that the systems you’re part of matter, and that your experience can’t be understood outside of those systems. You may have had the experience of “getting” something on a logical level, yet finding that knowledge to be inadequate or insufficient. I believe real change has to be felt, not just rationalized. So I focus on creating a relationship where it’s safe to take relational risks and have new experiences that create change on a deeper level. Within the relationship, the work can take many forms. We may start by looking into your past, as I believe the past is important in understanding the present, and that it’s useful for helping you understand your attachment style and relational patterns. And if you’re one of the many neurodivergent people who have experienced trauma, we can draw on Internal Family Systems/parts work and Emotion-Focused Therapy to help heal your younger self. My goal is to always meet you where you are, and sometimes that might mean taking a more practical, skills-based approach. This could mean developing strategies to manage overwhelm, big emotions, and struggles with organization, time-blindness and prioritization. For example, you may be feeling like you know what you need to do yet still can’t get it done. Here I also draw on my background as an ADHD coach, and use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Internal Family Systems to help you understand the emotions that may be getting in your way, see the different parts that create internal conflicts for you, and change how you relate to these parts.

If you need mental health support, you shouldn’t have to worry about your therapist judging you or making you feel uncomfortable. You are the expert in who you are, and I do my best to learn from my clients and provide a safe space to address whatever you’re going through. I frequently use cognitive behavioral, insight oriented, and emotions focused interventions within session. I’m also trained and certified in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) which is frequently used to address trauma but is also helpful in reducing the distress experienced around any negative thought and replacing it with a healthier/adaptive thought. I appreciate that I can’t be a good fit for everyone, so I welcome consultation calls to explore if my approach to counseling would be supportive to what you’re looking for within therapy.
