Currently, I provide online teletherapy through a HIPAA compliant platform. I have significant experience with adjustment issues, mood disorders, depression, anxiety, trauma, women's issues, military culture, and pre/post-surgical bariatric counseling. I recognize that life circumstances can be challenging, unexpected, confusing, and leave us feeling overwhelmed and not understood. It can be helpful to talk with someone who has the experience and compassion to help you discover the best path to meet your personal goals. I am committed to providing therapy that is always positively focused and encourages self-acceptance. Learning to focus on our strengths to make healthy choices physically, mentally, emotionally & spiritually are all part of long-term health and success. Hopefully, that is something I can help you with!

I view therapy as a deeply collaborative and relational process. Together, we will work to develop a deeper understanding of your experiences, patterns, and emotions—helping you build insight, create meaningful change, and foster personal growth. By gaining greater self-awareness, you can begin to navigate internal and relational challenges, explore the connections between your past and present, and move toward a more intentional and fulfilling future. My approach integrates a range of therapeutic modalities, with a strong foundation in psychodynamic and relational therapy. I am also extensively trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), which I use to support individuals in developing emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness. I strive to provide person-centered care within a safe, supportive, and empathetic environment. Our work together will center on understanding your experiences more fully and finding ways to respond to them with greater clarity and intention.
No matter what you bring to this space… You are valid, your feelings are valid, and you are welcome here. Whether you’re struggling with feeling overwhelmed and anxious, or whether you’re needing a space to explore your inner world, I recognize that taking the step toward change is a brave one—and I’m so glad you’re here. I specialize in therapy for childfree individuals, highly sensitive people, LGBTQ+ folx and their families, women recovering from narcissistic abuse, people who are no or low contact with family, and equestrians. My style is warm, collaborative, and direct. In my work, I operate from the perspective that we are all doing the best that we can, and that we all want to live our lives with contentment and joy—but that the path in getting there is often difficult and full of unexpected surprises.

Hey! I'm Dr. V with a New Genesis. I have a passion for working with children, adolescents, adults, and families. I have over 10 years experience working in the mental health field. My goal is to connect with those I come in contact with because this journey is a team effort. I believe that healthy communication is the key in any relationship, including the therapeutic one. Therapy should be an environment where you feel accepted and empowered so you can face the difficult challenges that are part of the human experience. When we feel lost in life, that can often lead to feeling overwhelmed and doubt within ourselves. You can end up questioning who you are and if you can be truly accepted as your authentic self. You deserve a space where you can learn about and face the scary parts of you in order to build self-confidence and navigate the world. In my practice, I first use authenticity, transparency, and compassion in order to build a strong therapeutic relationship with you. Then I utilize different techniques in order to help you understand the root of your behaviors, develop skills in order to cope with difficult thoughts and feelings, and identify your values in order to create a life worth living.
