People come to treatment for a variety of reasons. I view each person as unique and strive to assist individuals to overcome challenges and meet the goals that are important in their lives. As we work to let go of stress, pain, behaviors, thoughts and feelings that are not useful in the present, new healthier patterns can emerge and be adopted.

Perryopolis, PA

For close to 20 years, I have worked in the field of mental health and addiction. I have extensive experience working with all disorders from mild to severe and specialize in working with the dual diagnosed (mental health and addictions) population; especially those suffering from mood disorders, anxiety disorders and trauma related issues. I am able to offer guidance and support to not only the client who is suffering but their family and support system as well. I believe that all people are capable of improving their life with hard work, openness and a desire for change. I am passionate about working with individuals that have experienced trauma in their lives and assisting them with rebuilding their lives and finding peace, wholeness and health. I am trained in several modalities; CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy), Motivational Interviewing, and Harm Reduction. I have extensive experience facilitating both group and individual counseling and genuinely believe that all people are capable of change if they are willing to work hard and commit to the process.

Hi, I’m Tori — a therapist, theatre-maker, sourdough enthusiast, and firm believer that we’re all just doing our best to make sense of being human. My work is for anyone who’s ever thought, “Am I the drama?” — and then realized, maybe, a little. I love working with women, queer folks, and anyone who doesn’t quite fit into the neat boxes the world tends to hand out. My special heart-space is for college-aged and younger women trying to navigate identity, independence, relationships, and the wild, weird in-between of figuring it all out. Before becoming a therapist, I spent years in the theatre — helping people tell their stories, find their voices, and sit in the beautiful chaos of being seen. That same creative spirit is what guides me in therapy. Together, we’ll look at what’s working, what’s not, and gently (or not-so-gently) challenge the stories that keep you stuck. My background is in trauma and crisis work, with training in CBT, narrative therapy, and evidence-based approaches — but the heart of my work is connection. I want you to feel like you can show up as your whole self here — messy, brilliant, funny, heartbroken, healing, or all of the above. When I’m not in session, I’m usually baking bread, playing with my dogs, or daydreaming about planting too many flowers in my (slightly shady) backyard garden. Therapy with me isn’t about being “fixed” — it’s about being found.

I'm passionate about helping my clients develop a deeper understanding of themselves and of how they show up in the world. Have you ever said to yourself, "there's got to be more to life than this!" or wondered, "what do other people understand that I'm just not getting?". If you find yourself craving an easier flow to daily living and more enjoyment of the present moment, you're in the right place. I firmly believe each person has the ability to create a life they love and live with more inner peace and contentment. I'd love to support you in your journey of self-growth and exploration!

Transitions Counseling Services
Group practice
Paoli, PA

Transitions: An Athletic and Life Skills Program was developed in July 1999 because of the need to educate individuals across the life span of the strategies and skills used for successful transitions in life. Individuals already possess the skills that are needed. However, they may be unaware of their own strategies and/or their skills are not fully developed. Through my counseling services and the life skills program, needs of the individual are met by utilizing individual or group counseling sessions, couples, marriage or family counseling, workshops, speaking engagements and/or group/team building exercises with all being provided with personal attention. In 2007, the company name was changed to Transitions Counseling Service and Life Skills Program. Dr. Taunya Marie Tinsley a National Certified Counselor (NCC) and Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) will work with youth, adolescents, young adults and adults. My approach in working with clients is to explore and understand their psychological experiences. In addition, I use psychoeducation and neuroeducation to help clients intellectually understand why they are experiencing what they are experiencing, then collaborate on an actionable plan to change undesired behaviors and thought patterns. I incorporate mind-body interventions to help clients manage their symptoms. My therapeutic approach is evidence-based & integrative. I have extensive trainings and experience in trauma therapy & dialectical behavioral therapy.

Do you struggle with anxiety, emotional overwhelm, burnout, or feeling disconnected from yourself or others? Even if you’ve learned ways to cope, do you feel ready to process what you’ve been holding and begin healing more deeply? The clients I work with are often thoughtful, resilient individuals who want to better understand their experiences and reclaim a sense of safety, balance, joy, and meaning in their lives. Some are curious about exploring creative expression as a way to access emotions and experiences that may be difficult to talk about directly.

You’ve done the work. Therapy isn’t new to you—you’ve been there, talked through it, gained awareness. You get why you are the way you are, but despite all of that, you still feel stuck. Like no matter how much you understand your past, something deeper is keeping you in survival mode. Maybe you had to grow up fast. Maybe life didn’t give you much room to just be a kid. You’re great at figuring things out, staying strong, analyzing your feelings—but sometimes, it feels like you’re thinking your way around healing instead of actually feeling it. That’s where I come in. I specialize in EMDR, a therapy that helps you move past what’s keeping you stuck—not just in your mind, but in your body and nervous system, too. If you’ve already explored meditation or mindfulness, even better! That means you already know how to tune in—now, we’ll go deeper. If you’re ready to stop just understanding your past and actually move beyond it, I’m here to help. Let’s do this work together. If you take the wheel on this journey, I'll be in the passenger seat with a compass and a map to be a partner all along the way.
