Good mental health is key to thriving in school, maintaining strong relationships, and enjoying life. While medication can be a helpful tool, you may have heard mixed stories and are wondering if it's the right choice for you. Perhaps you were diagnosed with ADHD as a child and managed fine through high school, but now you're struggling to keep up. Or maybe you're already on medication for depression or anxiety, but it no longer seems as effective. You might even be seeking a second opinion on a past diagnosis or looking for a more holistic approach with a provider who truly listens. Whatever you're facing, I’m here to help. Why choose a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)? As board-certified and licensed professionals, PMHNPs are trained to diagnose mental health conditions, provide therapy, and prescribe medication. Nursing has been the most trusted profession for 22 years running, and we are dedicated to putting our patients at the heart of everything we do. That’s why I named my clinic Centered Psychiatry—because your well-being is always our focus. You deserve personalized care from someone who takes the time to understand your story and collaborate with you on a plan that works for you. If you're ready to explore a fresh approach to mental health, let’s connect.

College can feel like a lot — like you’re trying to stay afloat in a fast-moving current. Some days you’re cruising; other days it’s all you can do to keep your head above water. Maybe you’re here because you’re tired of just getting by. Maybe you’re looking for a space to slow down, catch your breath, and figure out what’s next. I believe in meeting people exactly where they are - in the messy, real, complicated parts of being human. My approach is flexible and grounded in empathy, drawing from attachment work, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), parts work, and EMDR. All aimed at helping you feel more connected to yourself and others.

Humor is something I like to incorporate into therapy; however, we can be serious about your concerns too. People of all ages struggle with human suffering and sometimes you need someone to walk with you through that, whether it be something you wish to change or something that you cannot. I aim to help my clients make meaning in life while also identifying the connections between our individual concerns and larger systems in life. I provide individual therapy for a variety of concerns, including depression, anxiety, identity exploration, and trauma, with specialized experience supporting people through grief, traumatic loss, and substance use concerns. My clients have expressed appreciation for my ability to sit with them in their suffering, when they have felt most alone. I have multiple years of experience previously working in college counseling centers. During these experiences, I supported students from a variety of backgrounds and found a lot of joy in helping students at a unique intersection in their lives. I have been lucky to work with a diverse student population and have supported many queer and trans students in exploring their gender and sexual identities while also addressing other mental health concerns. In addition, I was able to support BIPOC students as they addressed systemic issues within the university, while also exploring their individual racial identities. I further co-facilitated a family-trauma group during my time at a university counseling center. Thus, I find that I greatly appreciate being able to sit with students who are addressing these concerns. I am a Psychologist Resident in OR. I have my doctorate and five years of experience providing therapy, however, to become licensed in OR I must complete a supervised residency. I am supervised by Dr. Carrie McMullin (OR 2963). My areas of emphasis are relationships, trans-affirming care, neurodiversity, LGBTQIA+ concerns, trauma, anxiety, sexuality, multi-ethnic/cultural identity & college-related concerns. I support my clients in unlearning shame, setting boundaries without guilt, embracing their identities and cultures with pride, and build more authentic, fulfilling relationships. I offer a compassionate space where you can safely explore yourself, challenge old patterns, and develop new ways of responding that support healing, confidence and lasting change. In addition to psychotherapy, I provide WPATH assessments and letters for gender affirming surgeries. Therapy with me is collaborative, affirming, and driven by the desire to support you in healing through your resilience and empowerment. I integrate psychodynamic and action-oriented methods and my approach is liberation-based, anti-racist and trauma-informed.

Fundamentally, I believe we as humans all strive to do the best we can. We all possess the desire to thrive. Our individual internal strengths contribute to our natural resiliency, helping us navigate through life’s challenges. At times, an individual’s journey endures obstacles that are not easily tackled alone. Being human and juggling life’s difficulties can be challenging. Needing guidance to learn new skills and support to foster your strengths is okay. I enjoy supporting and guiding children, teens and families in exploring their needs and identifying strategies to help improve their overall well-being. I will come alongside you, working to grow strength and resiliency, one step at a time.

Currently accepting members for the Body Acceptance Group for Woman on Zoom. Our goal in group is to help you learn to connect with your body in a shame-free, loving, and enthusiastic way. I hope to help you achieve this through: *Critically evaluating the ways our negative view of bodies has been influenced by our upbringing, peers, and society *Deconstructing internalized body shame *Removing body-shame barriers that stop us from doing activities that bring us joy *Exploring what healthy looks like at every size *Exploring how we can see our bodies as more than objects *Becoming more mindful *Learning to have compassion for ourselves and others. ------- My goal is to help make counseling feel comfortable, safe, and at your pace. We will work collaboratively to help you find your strength, feel empowered and confident, and rediscover meaning and purpose in your life. Talking through past or present tough experiences or hurts can be difficult. It’s tempting to try and ignore them or minimize how they are impacting you. Therapy can be a safe space to help you take the time needed to address your feelings in a way that will help you truly heal from the hurt, and discover how to engage with yourself in a healthy way that enables you to move forward. Therapy with me is a nonjudgmental and collaborative space. I believe that the answers you are looking for are likely already within you, but therapy can help illuminate what those solutions could be. I work in session to address emotions, thoughts, behaviors, and interpersonal relationships, and use mindfulness and other tools that many people have found help them cope with challenging life circumstances. I also lead a group called Body Acceptance for Women, where you'll learn to connect with your body in a shame-free, loving, and enthusiastic way. I recognize that scheduling therapy for the first time can sometimes feel like an intimidating process. My hope is that you will trust that counseling can have a powerful and positive impact on your life. If you are bothered with anxiety, trauma, life transitions, body image issues, feeling unworthy, struggling with relationships, or any other challenge in life, let’s talk about it.

When people come to treatment with problems, it is important to remember that they are trying to cope with them in the best way they can. With that in mind, I offer a reflective and engaging partnership with my clients, working toward the goal of helping them to be autonomous, authentic and compassionate in a world that can be extremely stressful. Although my work is solidly grounded in psychodynamic, cognitive/learning, and systems theories, my approach is client-centered, practical and strengths-based. I bring honesty, warmth, and humor to the therapy relationship. I am LGBTQ affirmative and invested in doing cross-cultural therapy which is culturally sensitive. I have a dog, Bracket, who works with me, and I have been doing AAT since 2002. There is a growing body of research which suggests that AAT (Animal-Assisted Therapy) can be helpful with a range of diagnoses, including Depression, PTSD, and Autistic Spectrum. Many therapists know little about online games such as World of Warcraft and Second Life. They may dismiss it as unimportant, or assume it is a problem. I am a gamer-affirmative therapist, meaning I’m more interested in understanding your in-world experience and activity than pathologizing it.

Assisting woman-identified Oregon State students for nearly twenty years has been one of the most rewarding parts of my career. I have assisted students in all areas of study and from many continents. I have aided students in managing existing mental health challenges, adjusting to new mental health diagnoses, navigating academic stressors and relationship changes, healing from sexual assaults and traumas, learning to use their voice, becoming more comfortable in their bodies, and more. Being a Licensed Clinical Social Worker means that I believe that we are best understood in relation to our inner and outer environments, and also that our strengths hold wisdom that act as a blueprint for understanding our challenges. I work relationally with no workbooks or homework and believe that a healthy therapeutic relationship is a the most important tool in assisting others. My counseling style has been described as warm and nurturing, yet direct. I work best with students who are seeking therapy for themselves and are looking to actively engage in a change process. Feminist and Narrative theories heavily inform my work and I also use Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as tools to help create lasting change.

I like to think of therapy as a journey of inner exploration and I am along as a guide. I believe that therapy is most effective when it is a combination of intellectual understanding and emotional experience. In that regard, it feels like your feelings are our road signs that we are in the right track to self-growth. I try to not have a specific agenda going into sessions, but rather to go where it is you feel like you need to go at that time. I believe that it is my role to create a safe space for you to express and explore whatever it is that is inside you. Compassion is key, and cultivating self-compassion is one of the most important elements of therapy. I look forward to helping you explore and become more self-aware and self-compassionate!

I provide comprehensive medication management for ADHD, depression, insomnia, PMDD, PTSD, and weight management. But I don't just treat symptoms. I treat the whole person. That means we're going to look at the full picture: your sleep habits, screen time, nutrition, movement, stress levels, and how you communicate. Because all of it matters. Your brain doesn't exist in a vacuum, and neither do your symptoms. If you're running on autopilot, procrastinating on work, can't focus, can't sleep, can't stick to the routines you know would help... you're frustrated with your eating habits, your exercise patterns, or how you feel during certain times of the month, or maybe you just don't feel like yourself lately. I can help. If you're ready to stop wasting energy on what drains you and start investing it where it actually counts, let's get started.
