As a therapist my very first priority is to ensure a safe environment free from judgment and filled with positive regard. Together we can explore varying perspectives and possibilities throughout your life experiences and the thoughts, feelings, and behaviors attached to those experiences. I hope to empower you to engage with life intentionally and with meaning and to care for yourself along the way. Sessions are meant to be your time to invest in yourself, and to learn. In counseling I use a responsive approach, meaning, we will use pieces of different counseling theories that will best fit your goals and needs. The concepts that I use most include theories surrounding CBT (cognitive behavioral theory), systems theory, interpersonal relationship models, neuroplasticity, motivational interviewing, and narrative therapy. The space I cultivate is intended to be a laid back opportunity to find what works for you. With recognition that you know yourself and your experiences better than anyone else, that means you run the show at the end of the day. It is with this understanding that I mean to be an ally and resource on your path to knowledge and change.
Anxiety, depression, relationship stress. We all face challenges, and we do the best we can with what we know, and what we have, in the moment.

Hello! Searching for a counselor can be a very overwhelming task, but a good fit is so important. In my practice I use evidenced-based practices and strive to make them unique to each client. Some of us process by talking, walking, singing, creating or playing and therapy should be a place to process in a safe and familiar way. I have walked along side people who are hurting, lonely, hopeless, feeling stuck, facing big transitions and are looking for a safe place to land. If you think I would be a good fit or would like to learn more please check out my website at www.sarardore.com. Be kind to yourself, you will get through this.
Therapy offers a safe place to turn when life feels overwhelming. People often come with concerns around trauma, anxiety, depression, eating disorders, or substance use. Beneath these struggles is often a desire to feel at home in their body, to quiet self-doubt, and to experience more connection. Together, we can create a path toward healing, resilience, and greater compassion- for yourself and in your relationships. I take a holistic, trauma-informed approach that draws from EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), CBT, DBT, ACT, and somatic therapies. By integrating mind, body, and emotion, I help clients process painful experiences, build resilience, and reconnect with themselves in a way that supports lasting healing. My approach blends warmth, compassion, and practical strategies you can carry into everyday life. My goal is to help you reclaim the time and energy that’s been lost to hypervigilance, fear, and self-criticism, and replace it with connection, meaning, and freedom. You don’t have to stay stuck in survival mode. Reach out for a free consultation!
I enjoy helping to support people as they navigate through the many different waves of life. I help to create a warm, non judgmental, and supportive environment where clients are free to talk about their stories. I draw from a number of different treatment modalities, but most importantly, meet the client where they are at. While each individual's experience is unique, I regularly work with clients around topics related to anxiety, depression, obsessive thoughts, relationship concerns, sexuality, ADHD, life's transitions, familial conflict and many more. In this busy world, it can be difficult to make time to focus on your needs. Therapy provides a space to do so and share your story in a safe and non judgmental environment. Sessions are a time to practice self care, utilize your strengths, and develop tools that help you gain a better understanding of you. I would love to have the chance to work with you and hear your story. Currently, sessions are teletherapy based allowing you more flexibility to be in a familiar setting and join from any mobile or desktop device. I would love to help you with the process of learning more about you and develop the tools to navigate the many waves of life.
Serving predominately the LGBTQIA+ community, Half Moon clinicians take a radically authentic approach to treatment. We have a great group of highly skilled relational therapists on staff who can support you though a wide range of life’s challenges, including difficult family dynamics, anxiety and perfectionism, depression and low motivation, loneliness, grief, and more. Life can be relentless and present challenges that feel overwhelming. It takes strength to ask for help and courage to become vulnerable with someone new. I recognize this and will work at your pace to form a trusting relationship with you where you can feel safe, validated, and respected. I have experience working with teens and adults who find themselves worrying about the future or things they cannot control. I have worked with people who are processing past hurtful and stressful life events so they can find a sense of strength and security in the present. I enjoy helping people see their worth so their self-talk transforms. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy techniques to help clients explore the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors while learning skills to better navigate their daily life. I also incorporate mindfulness exercises to build a stronger mind-body connection and stay grounded in the present moment. You are worthy of having an unbiased space where you feel safe to process your experiences.
