I specialize in working with teenagers and young adults who are currently feeling the anxiety, overwhelm and pressure that come with this stage of life. Teenagers and young adults who feel the overwhelm and stress that comes with trying to be perfect and fitting into everything that comes with this age range, I am the therapist for you. With deep understanding, I hold hope that meaningful change is possible whether through individual, group or family therapy. Together we'll explore what might be underneath the withdrawal, burnout or shutdown response that comes with this pressure. We'll uncover patterns and build insight around what may no longer be working for you. From there, we'll create a practical plan with real tools to help you, your teen or young adult feel more confident.

Immediate openings; Licensed in Iowa and Minnesota! I believe that everyone can benefit from having a warm, genuine therapist by their side as they work through difficult feelings or experiences. I aim to help my clients increase their self-awareness and insight to make meaningful changes in their lives. I help my clients explore their goals, strengths, values, and help my clients reflect on beliefs and thought patterns that may no longer serve them. I enjoy using humor with my clients, make sure to celebrate successes throughout the therapeutic journey, and use a balance of challenging and encouragement to foster growth. I understand that everyone's needs of a therapist are different. Prioritizing a safe, nonjudgmental space for those I work with, I use a person-centered approach to collaborate with my clients to create a therapeutic experience that works best for them. Making the decision to start therapy can feel overwhelming, and it is important to feel as though your therapist is a good match. I am here to answer any questions about the therapeutic process you may have and to discuss how we could work together to reach your goals.
I bring over 20 years of experience working with children, teens, adults, couples, and families, supporting clients ages 5 and up across a range of settings including outpatient care, adolescent dual-diagnosis day treatment, and adult residential treatment. I work with individuals and families navigating anxiety, depression, anger management, parenting challenges, ADHD, relationship concerns, and substance use. I also hold a substance use specialty attached to my license, which allows me to support clients with co-occurring mental health and substance-related concerns in a grounded, practical way. My goal is to meet you where you are and help you move forward with clarity, support, and realistic tools for change.
Are you looking for someone to connect to who will listen, empathize, and provide non-judgmental feedback? Are you someone who struggles with emotional expression, anger, and thinks therapy is "not for you"? Are you adjusting to college life and need a bit of support through the transition? I can help. I am a compassionate, genuine, non-judgmental therapist. I focus on creating a safe space in which each individual feels heard and understood while promoting awareness, growth, and change. I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) principles as well as have specialized training in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), a trauma-based therapy approach. It can be so intimidating to take the first step of reaching out to a therapist for support. I get it, I've been there myself, and trust me, it's worth it. When you contact me, I promise to provide a warm and professional consultation to help you decide if I can meet your needs and if we would be a good fit to work together.
We have been taught that emotions are not meant to be felt but rather controlled. To hide the bad ones and only show the good ones. That sitting in them for too long means we are either dramatic, obsessive, or abnormal. If you have ever been told, either by others in your life or you yourself, that your emotions are too much or too complicated, I would like to say, “I hear you, and I am here for you.” In our sessions I would like to provide you with an environment where your emotional expression is celebrated and not reprimanded as I believe we can begin to heal once we have allowed ourselves to fully feel, without judgment or policing. Whether that is guilt, shame, sadness, anger, grief, anxiousness, and anything in between, we can work on processing them together at your own pace. I know that starting therapy can be a daunting and overwhelming task. However, getting the help you deserve and finding a therapist that fits your needs is already the first step!

I work especially well with someone who may feel stuck, isolated, overwhelmed, or perhaps even unsure where to begin? Therapy with me is focused on helping you move forward.

I help by providing a nonjudgmental space and time for you to process through the thoughts that are troubling you and the worries you have. I am available to see clients in Illinois and Indiana.

I want you to feel seen and heard throughout our time working together. Although I welcome working with a range of client concerns, my areas of special focus include navigating disordered eating, eating disorders, body image, shame and perfectionism, identity exploration and anxiety management.
