Therapists for college students near UCLA
Smart Talk Marriage and Family Therapy Inc.
We are a group of Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists (LMFTs) and Associate Marriage and Family Therapists (AMFTs) here to help you feel better. Here is a brief overview of what we do. LMFTs: Our LMFTs focus on support women through their motherhood journey from trying to conceive, pregnancy, and the postpartum period. We focus on helping smart, high achieving women navigate the stressors of starting a family while maintaining their career goals. We use a compassionate electric approach to therapy pulling interventions from different theoretical orientations and customizing our care plan to fit each individual woman's unique needs. AMFTs: Our AMFTs focus on working with young adults (16-24 years old) and supporting them in their transition into adulthood. It is hard to navigate what type of career you want to have, who you want to become, and what kind of friend you want to be. Our AMFTs are here to help you figure it out and support you as you find your path in life.

I work with students who feel overwhelmed, anxious, burned out, or like they’re barely keeping up even if they’re still functioning on the outside. You may be juggling school, work, relationships, family pressure, and big life transitions, while internally feeling exhausted, stuck, or constantly behind. Many students I work with are high-achieving on the outside but struggling privately with anxiety, depression, overthinking, procrastination, self-doubt, or feeling disconnected from themselves. Others are navigating relationship stress, identity questions, or the lingering impact of past experiences that still affect how they show up in daily life. Therapy with me is a space where you don’t have to hold it all together or figure it out alone. Together we slow things down, understand what’s underneath the stress, and start building clarity, steadiness, and emotional relief in a way that actually feels manageable in student life. My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in both emotional insight and practical tools to help you feel more regulated, confident, and connected to yourself.

I believe in the transformative power of art and deeply understand the challenges creatives face—addiction, burnout, anxiety, procrastination, and the search for identity in an ever-evolving world. With over 15 years in the music industry— working for Interscope, Atlantic, The Tonight Show, and as an artist manager—I combine deep industry insight with a master's in clinical psychology. This unique blend allows me to offer a holistic, personalized approach as a therapist and substance use disorder counselor, helping artists find clarity, resilience, and creative fulfillment. As a creative, you may find yourself balancing big emotions while keeping up with the demands of your work. Maybe you're struggling with burnout, self-doubt, or the thousand other aspects that make being a creative challenging in today's world. I’d be honored to walk with you on this next chapter of your journey. In 2020, I launched Connection is Magic, a top-ranked Spotify podcast where artists and entertainment industry leaders share vulnerably about their triumphs and setbacks. These powerful conversations have uncovered profound life lessons and transformative wisdom, which now shape the heart of my clinical approach.

Hi, please call me Simone. I'm glad you're here! Is your family or culture unsupportive of therapy? Do you expect yourself to handle everything on your own? Or do you fear what therapy can uncover? If you answered "yes" to any of these questions and are ready to do the work, then you are at the right place. I believe that seeking therapy is not a sign of weakness, but a courageous step toward growth. I combine person-centered therapy with cognitive behavioral techniques to help clients navigate issues of diversity, identity, intimate partner violence, and racial trauma. As a queer woman and BIPOC clinician, I recognize the profound impact that our identities have on our experiences and patterns in life. Thus, I approach therapy through an intersectional lens, paying close attention to the unique components of your identity—including ethnicity, age, gender, ability, sexual orientation, acculturation status, spiritual affiliation, and socioeconomic status. I was a client long before I became a therapist, so I understand how intimidating and vulnerable therapy can be. Know that if you feel overwhelmed, you don’t have to face life's obstacles alone. We will collaborate to find a path to wellness. I will be your biggest cheerleader and unconditionally supportive, but I will also gently challenge you, encouraging growth and healing. Change will not come overnight, nor is it linear. I'm here to provide a welcoming, safe, and compassionate space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings openly. Reach out, and together we can create a path toward healing, self-discovery, and an ultimately more fulfilling life!

I am passionate about working with individuals dealing with eating disorders with anxiety, depression, & PTSD. I also provide comprehensive eating disorder consultations and assessments. I believe the relationship between client and therapist is a fundamental part of the healing process. As therapy is not a one size fits all model, I am dedicated to providing individualized treatment to my clients so they can focus on being their best selves. While I have experience working with a variety of populations; my area of focus lies with eating disorders and the co-morbid diagnosis that accompany them. Throughout my time working in the various levels of mental health and eating disorder care, I have learned how difficult it can be to navigate which treatment path is right for you. To aid in making this process easier, I will be providing comprehensive eating disorder assessments and consultations to help individuals find the level of care that best meets their needs.
Jordan Gill, AMFT
My first priority is always a strong relationship because I know that the therapeutic process can only thrive when it’s built on authenticity, trust and connection. I draw upon humanistic, psychodynamic, and cognitive/skills-based theories, providing clients with support and tools they can use to move forward and make progress. The therapeutic work centers on navigating the client's present and managing behaviors and thoughts that may be standing in their way. We’ll also explore the arc of their past experiences for relevant information and collaborate on forward-facing goals to remain oriented toward progress.

Perhaps you feel like an imposter because you have learned that it is easier to hide your true self or because you haven't figured out who you really are. Or, maybe you are a people pleaser and find yourself doing things you do not want to do. You may feel unseen or unheard because you don't know how to set clear boundaries. Or, perhaps, you simply feel that something is missing, and you either don't know what it is or don't know how to find it. I’ve practiced for over 15 years and worked with children/teens, adults, and families and welcome complicated and challenging situations. I use an integrative approach of CBT and psychodynamic therapy so I can tailor treatment to best fit you. On the outside you appear fine, maybe even successful. But on the inside something is off. These internal struggles lead to feeling stuck, overwhelmed, dull, or unmotivated. They affect your ability to enjoy life, to maximize your potential, and have more meaningful relationships. I help clients get "unstuck." Together, we will identify patterns preventing you from getting the most out of life. We'll leverage your strengths to facilitate the changes you want to see. By relying on your strengths to solve problems, you will increase your confidence and your self-esteem, and this, in turn, will spill over and elevate other areas of your life. I am a therapist at Octave, a behavioral health practice creating a new standard for mental health care that’s both high-quality and accessible. In more recent years, my practice has expanded due to high demand for treating trauma, depression and anxiety related issues. I started my career working with at risk probation youth in residential placement. It was then I knew the future was in our children’s hands. I dove deeper into the world of community mental health with the goal of helping our youth and their families overcome life burdens that led to dysfunctional behaviors in the communities. I worked collaboratively with the Department of Mental Health, The Department of Child and Family Services, Los Angeles County Probation Department, and non-profit organizations for over 15 years. Throughout the years, I have trained extensively in childhood and adolescent social-emotional development and parent/child relational issues. I have also specialized in helping adolescent, adults, and families cope with generational trauma and its impact on their current functioning. I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). EMDR is comprehensive approach that addresses the physiological storage of memory and how it informs our experiences. EMDR is a widely researched model that has been proven to resolve an individual’s most severe and deeply rooted disturbances. My main objective is to build a strong rapport with all my clients. I believe a strong and trusting therapeutic relationship is the foundation of any successful treatment plan. I am committed to creating a safe and comfortable environment where you will feel confident in exploring and processing how to overcome life barriers and achieve ultimate fulfillment. I look forward to meeting you! I'm a therapist with Octave and Evernorth Behavioral Care Group. Octave is a mental health practice providing high-quality care covered by multiple insurances.
