Therapists for college students near Los Angeles, CA
I meet clients virtually to quiet negative self-talk and build resilience in their nervous systems using a patent pending somatic processing tool. With a stronger nervous system, it’s easier to not be overwhelmed, in fact your baseline becomes calm, less triggered, and more balanced. Clients routinely report resolution of panic attacks; resolving the underlying causes of the negative self talk; resolving the root causes of anxiety, depression, rage, and numbness; having better relationships; and understanding their emotions better. This transformative work addresses the nonverbal impact of stressful/traumatic experiences including feelings, sensations, emotions, muscle tension, numbness and dissociation; the areas where talking is not effective. Benefits typically begin with the first session. We use CBD, medical cannabis, or ketamine assisted virtual sessions to activate brain areas that facilitate safely processing emotions, and make new brain cell connections (associated with learning and working around blocks) among many other benefits. Many patients complain about the emotional numbness and other symptoms caused by their psych medications. Because I am a medical doctor, as patients improve I am able to help wean them off of their meds when appropriate. Insurance is not accepted, but sliding scale payments are. I’m an Associate Clinical Social Worker currently practicing in Los Angeles. I am able to work with clients in California and Connecticut. I have had the privilege of working with teens, adults, parents and families who are struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction, and beyond. My heart lies in providing care that's not just effective, but deeply compassionate. As a mother of two and experience working in residential treatment for adolescents, I have experienced firsthand the challenges that parents face from pregnancy, toddlerhood, and adolescence. My priority is to create a safe space for exploration and growth by making you feel seen, heard, and understood. Through the use of empathy, non-judgement, compassion, and curiosity, I support my clients in exploring challenges, patterns, and transitions in their lives allowing them to gain a deeper awareness of who they are and who they strive to be. Collaboratively identifying goals with my clients allows for a personalized approach tailored to their unique needs and circumstances. Together we will explore and address underlying sources of distress, practicing mindfulness and self-compassion, and fostering healthy connections and boundaries in relationships. If you feel stuck, overwhelmed, hopeless, or always on edge, you’re not alone. You may experience worries that keep you up at night, or keep you from enjoying your life. Or you may feel like your life will never be the same again after experiencing something traumatic. You might also be feeling hesitant to ask for help because no one else in your life seems to feel the way you do, and can’t understand your struggle. I see you and understand your struggle. I will help you feel comfortable in sharing your worries, your concerns, your problems, your challenges. I use a gentle and personal approach to build a warm and trusting relationship, and ensure that your autonomy is preserved in treatment decisions. You can expect a collaborative relationship from day one. I use a person-centered and strengths-based approach in therapy, and rely on evidence based strategies to help you reach your goals. I will help you to strengthen your ability to cope with and manage challenges, teach you how to communicate with others, and help you to build confidence and self-esteem. Therapy won’t solve all your problems, but I can help you in building the skills you need to face those problems.
I've been there. I've had days where it's hard to get out of bed.. when you've laid awake yet another night trying to calm your anxieties and racing thoughts. When people tell you "maybe you should talk to someone"... I've been there. Scrolling and looking at tons of therapist profiles to start a journey to find relief or to find a therapist that's a better fit. Yup. Been there. A little bit about me: BA Psychology - University of California Santa Barbara MSW - New York University Over 18 years of experience starting in foster care social work, then onto being an individual, couples, and group therapist. I've also done medical/hospital social work. I specialize in addressing anxiety, depression, grief, and perinatal/postpartum issues. I believe that progress in therapy is 85% the relationship between the therapist and client and 15% therapeutic intervention. Like I said in the beginning, I've been there. I know what it's like to need help, relief, and support. It's possible to feel better and get to where you want to be. When you're ready, I'm here.

If you’re a Gen Z or millennial woman who only realized you had OCD as an adult, you know what it’s like to feel stuck in your own mind. You might spend hours needing things to feel “just right,” second-guessing every choice, or checking and re-checking just to feel certain. You keep your thoughts to yourself because you know they don’t make sense but they still feel so real, and over time this can feel isolating and lonely. Decisions can start to feel impossible. Intrusive thoughts loop endlessly. The constant urge to get rid of doubt can be exhausting. If this sounds familiar, you’re not broken and you don’t have to face it alone. I support women questioning whether they have OCD or navigating a late diagnosis. Many feel trapped by intrusive thoughts, perfectionism, and the mental and emotional strain of trying to control every outcome. If you find yourself seeking reassurance just to feel a sense of relief, you’re in the right place. Therapy can be a space where you practice staying present even when your mind is loud. Together, we’ll work on sitting with discomfort, building safety in uncertainty, and developing tools that actually work for your life, not against it. My goal is to help you create more room for confidence and self-trust. I’m here and ready when you are. Reach out today.

As a therapist and Board-Certified Psychiatrist, I strive to approach each individual with empathy, curiosity, and respect. My extensive work with people from diverse economic, gender, sexual, cultural, and racial backgrounds gives me a unique lens through which I understand the complexities of human behavior, mental health, and healing. Our mental health is not only influenced by individual experiences but also by the broader context of society, culture, and history. This holistic perspective allows me to connect with clients in a meaningful way and offer individualized approaches to the healing journey. I received my Medical Degree from NYU School of Medicine, and completed my residency training in Psychiatry at UCLA-Olive View in Los Angeles. My areas of focus include depression, anxiety, trauma, and stress management. I believe in the power of healing—whether through therapy, medications, or a combination of approaches. While medication is not for everyone, I have seen it play a crucial role in treatment for many people. If we determine that it would be beneficial to try a medication, we will thoroughly discuss the risks and benefits before starting. There will be regular check-ins to ensure it is serving its purpose. And ultimately the decision about whether or not to take a medication I prescribe is yours and yours alone.
My training is in both medical and clinical mental health settings where I have gained an expertise in working with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, sleep concerns and insomnia, chronic pain and other chronic illness adjustment difficulties. I also have a passion for working with mothers and women who are pregnant or postpartum and are looking for support through these critical life stages.
I am a board-certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner practicing in San Diego and through telehealth in the state of California. My approach to mental health involves the whole person, and we work together to focus on all aspects of life and health–emotional, social, and physical. In addition to training in psychiatric care, my background in social work, perinatal health, and sexuality education enriches my perspective and the care I provide. We will address lifestyle factors (sleep, exercise, diet, etc.) that, in addition to medication and therapy, impact a person’s overall well-being and mental health. I develop collaborative treatment plans with you and treat a broad range of conditions, with a particular interest in anxiety, depression, perinatal mental health, ADHD, PTSD, and affirmative mental healthcare for gender-expansive and trans folks.
The journey to transform self-betrayal and self-abandonment into self-trust and self-love requires honesty and deep compassion for every part of ourselves and our stories. My mental health practice and my view of the world is largely informed by the belief that shame is NEVER an access point to growth, but rather, a paralyzer that keeps us stuck repeating the same cycles we might so desperately want to escape. My hope is to serve those who are frozen by shame and who see this play out in self-doubt and acts of self-betrayal, such as: 1. Substance use that brings painful consequences and actions incompatible with held values 2.Always taking the role of the “Pursuer” in romantic relationships and repeatedly finding yourself in dynamics where your effort is not reciprocated and your needs for consistency, time spent together, or commitment are not met. Additionally, being unable to communicate your needs explicitly despite desiring a committed partnership. 3. Taking on familiar responsibilities due to guilt despite these crossing your boundaries or inhibiting your own vision of what you want for your life. My goal is to take a non-pathologizing approach that asks the questions, “Why is there pain and how did it come to form?” My work is informed by the modality Internal Family Systems and, as such, we will observe and embrace every “part” of you–those that feel good and those that feel “bad”–as completely natural and understandable byproducts of your story. I use a deep focus on the body as a source of messages and valuable information with the belief that returning to the body can offer an access point to healing the Self.

I work with children, teens, and adults, using a specialized blend of behavior principles into my therapeutic practice. I started my career in special education as a behaviorist for children with autism and later worked as a school counselor for middle school students in East Los Angeles. I earned my BCBA in 2020 and my LCSW in 2021, allowing me to integrate behavior management techniques into my mental health practice.
