Looking for a therapist can feel frightening and overwhelming. This is especially true if you are one of those individuals who have it all put together, yet often worry about what others may think. Do you struggle with feelings of loneliness, fear, guilt, shame, anger, difficulties trusting others and difficulties feeling joy. Therapy is a transformational process and I certainly understand being anxious or even fearful of change. Through my personal experience in psychotherapy and work with clients, I have witnessed the healing and change the therapeutic process offers. My approach is warm and welcoming. I strive to establish a peaceful and safe environment. I truly believe beauty and healing are often a result of allowing light shine to our darkest places. With the right space and support, you can achieve the things you want to achieve as well as heal from past hurts. I hold the same belief when completing psychological evaluations for Immigration. I also offer the opportunity of telehealth- video conference sessions in order to expand my ability to offer safe therapeutic support. Looking forward to hearing from you and being part of your journey
My clients usually approach me when they are ready to make a change in their lives. They are experiencing conflicts, inside themselves or with others, and are looking for an empathic, flexible and dynamic clinician to provide support and guidance. With clients and within myself, I emphasize maintaining mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual health and wellness practices, as well as, feelings of HOPE and self acceptance. My clients and I are both “agents of change,” constantly progressing, and continuously developing through this journey called life. I am currently licensed and practicing in the state of California and New Jersey. I also have a permit to practice in New York supervised by Dr. Melissa Laracuenta- Hernandez.

Let’s make space for ease...and joy. Despite my title, I only work with adults individually (I don't see couples or families at this time).

I have had the privilege to journey with young adults through major life transitions, while serving in university counseling centers for the past 12 years. I understand the effort it takes to manage academic pressures, navigate social relationships, strive for work-life balance, while trying to get some sleep! I can help you get unstuck from perfectionism and cognitive inflexibility through the practice of radical acceptance, self-compassion and resilience.
College can be exciting and full of new experiences, but it can also bring a lot of pressure. Between academics, relationships, and figuring out your future, it is easy to feel stressed, anxious, or unsure of yourself. Therapy offers a chance to slow down, reflect, and work through whatever feels heavy right now. My approach is warm, collaborative, and culturally aware. I focus on helping students manage stress, anxiety, and relationship challenges while building self-understanding and confidence. Sessions are available online for students across California, and my goal is to make therapy a supportive space where you can be heard and find balance.
You have taken a big and brave first step into bettering yourself and addressing your mental well-being. I have worked with individuals from various different backgrounds and identities treating a wide array of mental conditions. In our collaborative work together, we will process and explore barriers that may be inhibiting you from your full human potential. Counseling can feel like a scary and overwhelming experience, but know that this is the first step to bettering yourself. Counseling can improve both your personal relationships with family and friends and give you a sense of fulfillment in your life. Together we can build a working relationship to discover ways to reduce your current condition while examining patterns that affect your interpersonal relationships based on cognitive processes. I practice from a psychodynamic framework, which is defined as exploring people's emotions, thoughts, motivations, and behaviors that are outside of our awareness. *Please note that I am only seeing students via Telehealth as my practice is now 100% remote.* My areas of interests and expertise include working with adults, depression, anxiety, substance abuse, work burnout, trauma, interpersonal relationships, men and masculinities, gender identity, new fatherhood, porn addiction, and self-compassion. I aim to create a safe space to process aspects that may seem like a hindrance to reaching your full potential.
I’m a first-generation South Asian American therapist who works with students navigating anxiety, academic pressure, identity exploration, perfectionism, and cultural or family expectations. Hi! I'm Ivy! It's nice to meet you unofficially. It takes a lot of courage to seek help, and I would be honored to help you on your journey to wellness. Each client I have worked with has special strengths that I have used to create a plan to address their concerns. It might be hard to see that you have strengths right now, but I'm confident that I can help you see strengths within yourself. As we move along the healing process and improve areas in our lives, sometimes we may feel challenged or unsure. That's why I'm here. I will walk right alongside you and encourage you along the way. It takes work to be you, and it's ok to get help when being you doesn't feel the best. You're not meant to go this alone because if you were, you would be the only person on this earth. It may feel like you're the only person going through your challenge, and that's completely understandable. Since we live in a community, we can use that community to help us heal. Sometimes, adding professional help to your community of support can be the key to progress. There is a part of you that believes that you can feel and be better. That's the part that led you here today. So take the next step and schedule a free consultation and see if we connect well.
“I’m the loneliest girl in the world,” you think to yourself while lying in bed at night. Your parents, partner, and friends are of absolutely no help. In fact, when you go to them with your problems, they only make things worse—offering their BS life advice or making it all about themselves. Ugh. Once again, you feel alone—utterly alone. Your heart breaks when a friend cancels plans and then you criticize yourself vehemently for being “so sensitive” and for expecting so much of others. To comfort yourself, you seek food, booze, or zoning out on Netflix but nothing works. What’s a 20-something girl with her whole life ahead of her to do? It may feel like this is “it” for the rest of your life—a lonely existence—but it’s not. I help women just like you to attain the connection, confidence, and contentment you crave. By working through what lead to your loneliness, feeling “all the feels,” and finding ways to show up for yourself, you will transform from being utterly lonely to simply…happy. You’ve been feeling lonely for far too long. It’s time, sis. Nothing’s worked but therapy will. Pick up the phone and give me a call. I offer a free 20-minute phone consultation for you to ask questions and make sure we have “good vibes.” Next, we will schedule our initial session and officially put an end to your lonely existence.
