Brittany Steiner
College can be exciting, but it can also bring an enormous amount of pressure. Academic demands, perfectionism, relationships, identity changes, being away from home, uncertainty about the future, and trying to balance everything at once can quickly become overwhelming.
I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor and the owner of Mindful Flow Counseling & Yoga. I work with college students and young adults experiencing anxiety, OCD, trauma, chronic stress, burnout, grief, relationship concerns, life transitions, perfectionism, and nervous system dysregulation.
I especially enjoy working with students who feel like their minds are constantly “on” — overthinking, second-guessing themselves, struggling with intrusive thoughts, worrying about making the wrong decision, or feeling pressure to keep performing even when they are exhausted. You may look like you are holding everything together on the outside while internally feeling anxious, overwhelmed, disconnected, or stuck.
My approach is warm, collaborative, and individualized. I integrate evidence-based and mind-body approaches including EMDR, somatic therapy, cognitive and behavioral strategies for anxiety and OCD, mindfulness, parts-informed work, and trauma-informed yoga. Therapy may involve processing past experiences, learning practical tools for managing anxiety and intrusive thoughts, improving emotional regulation, reconnecting with your body, and developing a healthier relationship with yourself.
I also recognize that college is a major developmental transition. Therapy can be a space to explore identity, boundaries, friendships, family relationships, dating, academic pressure, career uncertainty, and the question of who you want to become — without feeling like you have to have everything figured out already.
My goal is not simply to help you cope from week to week. I want therapy to help you understand the patterns keeping you stuck, build skills you can actually use outside of session, and create meaningful change that carries into your relationships, academics, career, and life beyond college.
If you are dealing with anxiety that will not quiet down, intrusive thoughts, trauma, perfectionism, burnout, relationship stress, or simply feeling unlike yourself, you do not have to navigate it alone. Together, we can work toward helping you feel more grounded, confident, connected, and capable of moving forward.
